The people of Yemen were directly blessed by the Prophet Muhammad (saw) - but these blessed people are currently suffering from ‘the worst man-made humanitarian crisis of our time’. Since the beginning of conflict in Yemen in 2015, Rafah has been providing humanitarian aid to some of the worst hit areas such as Aden and Hudaydah as well as helping refugees who have fled from conflict areas to safety in Hadramawt. The ongoing conflict is devastating already impoverished communities. Millions have been displaced and Yemen is on the brink of famine. Now, the coronavirus pandemic is threatening vulnerable families even more. With half of all health facilities damaged or unable to function we urgently need you to donate food, medical care and clean water to Yemen to help them cope with the coronavirus crisis. Rafah Foundation has its base in Tarim in Yemen’s Hadramawt region. It was set up under the direction of the distinguished scholar, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, and started operating in 1997. Since then it has been striving to improve the lives of ordinary people by providing essential foodstuffs and medication, sponsorship of orphans and widows and the digging of wells. The Foundation also places great emphasis on education and supports teachers, students and educational institutes.
